Luckily, I’ve been very calm up to the point and even after the release of Grand Theft Auto IV. I’d be more than happy to get a PS3 but I figured I’d be patient since I have plenty to keep me busy on the PS2 and elsewhere. Although with all the good things I’ve read about GTA IV I’ve realized why I’m so happy to just take it easy and wait. I know its the greatest thing since sliced bread but what’s the rush?

Just happened to be in my hometown Washington D.C. to present on ColdFusion Components at my former college. Luckily, I made a mistake on when I’d be presenting so I get to be another day here. I’ll be eating breakfast with my father and bike riding tomorrow with my best friend. Something I haven’t been able to do since I’ve moved to NYC. Although I love it there its nice to be back home. Even if its for a day or two.

I admit it freely. I’m a sucker for eye candy. Awhile back I came across a very elegant, simple and fun Flash game that reminded me right away of Sim City. The graphics had me so intrigued I tried it out and it remains bookmarked. Do yourself a favor, make some time and play the game.

Setanta, I love your channel. I really do. But when you decide to talk soccer news on Setanta Sports News make sure to show the highlights. I could care less about Joe Schmo reporting from Turkey with little camera shots of hot broads in the stands, the fans with bonfires.. How can you possibly not show game highlights at least all goals scored is beyond me.

You have to love football. Its a crazy game that you can’t predict. A team can play a good first half, be up by 2 goals, and then everything just breaks down. Bolton were up 2-0 at the end of the first half but that was not enough to save them. Arsenal ended up winning 3-2. The same happened to Barcelona. They were up 2-0 and completely fell apart losing 3-2 as well. And the cherry on top is the official news that “Barcelona are in a crisis!”

Using ASDoc With Flex Projects

Steps to follow to generate ASDoc for a Flex project on Mac:

Open a terminal window
Enter the following command:
cd /Applications/Adobe\ Flex\ Builder\ 3/sdks/3.0.0/bin/
Then run a command similar to:
./asdoc -source-path /Applications/ColdFusion8/wwwroot/javierj/src/ -doc-classes com.javierj.containers.SuperTitleWindow com.javierj.controls.RicherTextEditor -output /Applications/generatedASDoc/

After “-source-path” specify an absolute file path to the “src” directory. Following the “-doc-classes” specify a space delimited list of classes (using full package notation) you want included.

Then finally after the “-output” is the location where the generated documentation files are saved. Note that if the folder does not exist it will be created.

If you are struggling to figure out a problem, one that you know is a simple one but are wasting a lot of time on, then you ought go back to the basics. Cut out all the extra junk and focus on the specific piece and after a few tries the problem should stand out.

Honestly, where did this come from? I was not expecting anything like this. Microsoft is definitely picking up speed. Sure its just a beta but certainly curious to see how much better it is than IE7.

This weekend I’ve almost wrapped up FFXII. I’m at the ending where if I begin that area I can’t go back anywhere else. I intend to finish it later this week.

One of the things I’ve enjoyed is the set of characters and their voice actors. It’s a lot better then FFX and its something I hope carries on. The story has been great and the gameplay even better.
